TIP No. 28

Bathrooms naturally carry moisture, drainage, odour, and waste-release energy. In Vastu, this makes them sensitive areas of the home. One simple traditional practice is to keep coarse sea salt in small open bowls in the bathroom corners. Salt has long been used in Indian homes as a cleansing and absorbing element, especially where heaviness, dampness, or dull energy is felt. Place a small bowl of coarse sea salt in the bathroom where it is safe, dry, and not easily disturbed. Replace it every 7 days. Do not reuse the old salt. Dispose of it respectfully by f lushing it away or discarding it outside the living area. Saturday is often preferred by many Vastu practitioners for replacement because it supports removal, discipline, and clearing of stagnant energy. This practice should be supported by proper cleaning, ventilation, exhaust, and dryness. Salt is not a substitute for hygiene. It is a supportive Vastu habit that can make the bathroom feel lighter, cleaner, and energetically more contained. .
