TIP No. 7

Direction Matters During Daily Puja

In daily worship, even small details can have a quiet effect on the mind. One such detail is the
direction faced during puja. In general Vastu tradition, facing east in the morning is considered
supportive because east is linked with sunrise, clarity, freshness, and spiritual awakening. In the
evening, facing north is also often recommended because it is associated with steadiness,
calmness, and a more inward frame of mind.
This is why the placement of the deity shelf or mandir also matters. When the setup is arranged
properly, it allows the worshipper to sit in a direction that feels more aligned and disciplined.
Such alignment is not only about ritual correctness. It helps create a prayer space that feels
orderly, respectful, and mentally settling.
Still, the heart of puja is devotion. Direction helps the atmosphere, but sincerity gives life to the
practice. So use this tip with understanding, not fear. Keep the prayer area clean, calm, and free
from distraction. When the direction, the environment, and the intention come together, even a
short daily puja begins to feel deeper, more focused, and spiritually nourishing.
