TIP No. 14

Store Grains in South / South-West

One of the easiest Vastu improvements in a kitchen is proper storage placement. Grains, pulses, flour, rice, and other dry goods are not just everyday items. In Vastu, they represent nourishment, stability, and the reserve strength of the household. That is why these heavier storage items are generally better placed in the south or south-west area of the kitchen, where the energy is considered more grounded and supportive.
When heavy storage moves into lighter zones, many people feel that the kitchen becomes less organised, food gets wasted faster, or small household expenses increase without any obvious reason. This should be understood as a general Vastu observation, not as a rigid prediction.
The practical correction is simple. Keep heavier containers and long-use food stock toward the south or south-west side as far as possible. Use the north and east for lighter movement, freshness, and openness. Also remove expired or unused food regularly, because Vastu works best when direction and cleanliness support each other.
