TIP No. 15

A kitchen is not just a place where food is prepared. It is one of the most active and sensitive spaces in a home because it carries daily nourishment, routine, care, and family energy. That is why even a structural detail like a beam above the cooking platform deserves attention in Vastu.
When a heavy beam comes directly over the stove or over the head of the person cooking, it is traditionally seen as a pressure point in the space. In practical terms, this can create a feeling of heaviness, strain, irritation, tiredness, or mental burden over time. If the same person cooks there every day, the effect may feel stronger simply because that pressure becomes part of the daily environment.
This does not mean one should panic. It means the space should be handled with awareness. The simplest correction is to avoid placing the stove directly under the beam wherever possible. If changing the platform is not practical, then keep the kitchen bright, clean, uncluttered, and visually open. Good lighting, proper ventilation, and reducing overhead heaviness can help a lot.
This is a general Vastu tip. In actual practice, the full effect depends on the total layout of the home, kitchen placement, fire zone balance, and other structural factors.
